One-Day Conference at the National Gallery

The London Museums, Librarians and Archivists Group are running a one-day conference on 10th September 2009, entitled:

'Not Museum Pieces? – The Developing Role of Archivists and Librarians in Museums'

Addressing the future development of Museum/Gallery libraries and archives, the conference will also look at the impact of emerging technologies and web applications.

The student ticket is priced at £10. The study day will surely be invaluable for those wishing to enter this area of librarianship.

The conference will run from 10am - 5pm and will be held in the Sainsbury Wing Theatre. The programme can be found at:

Treasured Art Library In Cornwall

Western Morning News published this great article (June 2009) about a Cornish public library art collection created by gathering discarded books from other libraries. Now counting over 6,000 items, it is consulted by researchers from all around the county and beyond. The article also contains a interview with Cornwall's Art Librarian Liz Le Grice, who is also the library's custodian.
